Cobbler’s Pose

IMG_1211Hip openers allow us to channel our creative energy. (To find out why look out for my next post about Chakras) Today we will try Cobbler’s pose. This asana (pose) is a great hip opener. To begin, sit on a folded blanket and bend your knees. Place the soles of the feet together as the knees drop out to the sides. Place your hands on your feet and gently allow your hips to open more deeply. Remain seated with a tall spine as the hips open and the knees and thighs descend to the floor. Only when the thighs and knees touch the ground, allow yourself to fold forward. If the thighs are not making contact with the ground remain where you are and allow gravity to do its work. Breathe deeply here for 5-10 breaths.
